I used to carry between $500 and $1500 at all times[*]. I didn't worry so much about the TSA goons confiscating it but I did worry about leaving it in my wallet while it goes through the machine, then sits there on the conveyor while I'm in line waiting for the TSA goons get their jollies with 80YO grandmothers and 19YO boys in front of me.
