BYW 21

I have a mystery bridge rectifier in my junkbox (three of them, actually).



It's a motorola part, BYW 21.



Anyone got data? It's way obsolete, but I'll use it in one-off supplies if I know what it is.

Often I just throw away parts I can't identify.

My dad worked for a company that (somehow) had an unlabeled bottle with some sodium metal in it. They attempted to wash it down the sink.

According to my old databook, it's a bridge, 15 A, 100 volts.

Excellent. That's what I needed to know.

It's no doubt bigger, less efficient, and more fragile than any 15A/100V bridge you could get today -- but it'll still work for me.

This past weekend, on "Beakman's World", they were talking about cell division. And the gal says, "The one cell splits into two", and they go split-screen, "then the two into four" split-screen again, 2 x 2, "then four into eight," and they do an 8-up, "And so on, and so on, and so on..."
