Maybe I try those. But so far none of the programs found a thing. Also, they tend to fall from grace fast while being praised to high heaven elsewhere, as seen here:
Quote "SpyBot S&D
Then, quote "As none of these "Anti-Spyware" scanners can no longer completely remove these pests. This is mainly due to new daily threats and the use of random generated filenames used by these parasites!"
Well, duh! I thought these programs were supposed to scan the files and not expect them to wear T-shirts saying "I am a crook" on the back. The smart thing would be to monitor what actaully happens during a redirect and who issues it. Now that would be smart, but ... ain't happening.
I bet I can run half a dozen of those programs and nothing will be found.

IME Norton SW has too often been used as nagware. Get a new PC, they give you Norton for "free" and x months later the nagging begins. That has left a taste of lacking professionalism with me.
I tried other systems and they are different. But then again, Martin Riddle got similar results as I did, around the same time.
Data is all backed up. But wiping the machine will be major pain. Mirroring is not working well (tried that before), lots of stuff has to be installed by hand. Piece by piece.
Try consulting. But you still have to deal with the junk caused by programmer incompetence and script kiddies :-)
