I've seen this too many times. There are a lot of programmers who find fancy programming to be fun, as opposed to just grunting out the problem at hand.

Actual quote. I fell for it, about 35 years ago. Never again.
Anyone who uses the word, trivial, is trivial.

Oh please shut the F* up :-) You make me recall a project where an external programmer was just sucking the company dry with his endless re-writes. Even though I wasn't involved in the project it did cut into my salary so I quit.
