Commercial sensors for HVAC maybe suitable. Take a look at what Dwyer has.

Two resistor wires in the path, one open to the path of air flow, one blocked but in the same vicinity. These become part of a balanced bridge circuit into a high gain comparator or, a low gain one depending on the type of wire you are using..

I wasn't into comic books, period. Radio was the Green Hornet, The Fat Man (detective), etc. I was (I remain) a geek/nerd... classical music, though I was a fan of Elvis, Everly brothers, Big Bopper, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc., and James Dean movies ;-)

For me, comic books were an important part of growing up. In the summer, I had a routine. I would walk along several streets, and pick up bottles. When I had enough, I would take them to the local mini-mart and cash them in to buy a comic book, and some candy. My brother and I had a stack of comics almost three feet high, till our mother made us get rid of them... ;-)

I was too busy reading electronics magazines and used EE textbooks in my teen years. I also mowed lawns and worked in a TV shop after school to buy tools and parts. :)
