I was in a technical discussion with him in late January. He mentioned that he was under the weather, then he stopped responding to email.
Anyone know him well enough to call and see if he's OK?

I just wrote him an email. Last post here from him was early February.
Man, I'm wondering if I should try calling the gendarmes and have them knock on his door. If he were sick, though, they'd either be too late or he'd be fine.
And I have no idea how to go about requesting an international health and welfare check, nor how to get through the language barrier.
Hopefully he's just inherited a bundle and run off with his mistress or something innocent like that.

I tried sending a fax to the number listed in his site registration... via my MyFax account, so no telephone on my end.
An error message came back that someone (voice) answered the fax line.

It was a rather 'busy' month and a half or so. After a bad flu, a customer went broke on me for big bux, my car decided I had to change it earlier than planned and then went 2 holidays weeks: one for a long planned lab/office rearrangement (custom bench, ...), the second one being devoted to my daughter. All that unconnected because of a major system upgrade that went very wrong and had no time to fix, which I just recovered from (no data loss).
