512K x 8 static RAMs

I've noticed that the availability of very low power static RAMs seems to have decreased. Are people just not designing in battery backed RAMs of any size or something like that?

Hello Ken,

That is probably true for many applications. Just walk through Costco or Walmart and look at the prices for USB memory, SD card etc. 1G costs you around $60-70, but the smaller versions are really cheap. Flash memory is the new game. A 512K x 8 flash probably costs less than the backup battery alone would. Plus you don't have to worry about that battery leaking after a decade or so.
