Hi..



I am using parts of which not all ports are used by me in a hobby project. This takes up to much space. I am looking for smaller parts with less ports. And still widely obtainable.


4070 XOR has 4 gates of 2 inputs. Needed 1 XOR gate of 2 inputs.

LM339N has 4 comparators. Needed 2 comparators.



AM26LS31C differential line driver sender has 4 input channel. Needed 2 input channel.



AM26LS32ACN differential line driver receiver has 4 output channel. Needed 2 output channel.



Do you know a replacement for one or more ?

There are a number of dual RS422 type drivers in 8 pin packages

You could always just clip the unneeded pins off.

I can not find one with a DIP package. To keep it simple to build a DIP package would be better in this case.

I suspect that all those 'single gates' are likely to be in SMT.

2 gates XOR would be ok to, if it is in a 8 pin DIP package. As long the DIP package is smaller then the 14 pin 4070.

I don't recall seeing any.

Don't be *too* afraid of a 5 pin SMT device. They're not all that tricky to handle. Just don't sneeze or it'll vanish !

You have a point there.

Never really considered it. It might make the whole pcb smaller. I am going to look into it.
