For anyone out there who hasn't heard, CadSoft EAGLE 5.0 has been released after a significant beta phase. Most issues (at least effort-wise) in the beta phase had to do with the new graphics engine (QT4) and making that work.
There are many new features including full file compatibility between binaries native for Windows, Linux, and Mac. There are some still outstanding items that have been requested (hierarchy for instance) which will hopefully be incorporated in future releases.
