Someone Wanted to Know the Data Rate for Mars Rover

Someone Wanted to Know the Data Rate for Mars Rover, well here are a couple articles which mention some of them. The 7 bits per sec and 32 bits per sec are 'fallback' rates, something that's used as a last resort.

A "long, thin data pipe" is definitely an understatement!

In article , Watson A.Name - "Watt Sun, Dark Remover" mentioned...

As for that last 2 paragraphs, I think the following is appropriate.

"If builders built buildings the way programmers write programs, then the first termite to come along would destroy civilization"

Apparently one of the rovers is on the fallback rate. They still haven't decided if it's software or hardware. I think most of us have a good idea. Good quote Watson....LOL.....I remember a group I worked with that had a couple of lousy engineers. One of them was a software engineer and the other hardware. They were quietly refered to as "Soft Weenie" and "Hard Weenie". So the moral of the story?...If you're going to be a weeny its best to be a hard one! Thanks for the links....Ross
