MAX756 inductor substitutes

Hello,

Could anyone suggest replacement inductors for the ones specified in the MAX756 datasheet? My attmept to find the inductors at Farnell Australia was a complete faliure as their search engine is lousy - search for 22uH and get 220uH/22uH/2.2uH/0.22uH... with partially loading pages (96 results and only 22 on the page, no other pages listed) and frames all out of line. They also don't stock the specified brand names.

It's my first go at the MAX756 DC-DC converter and as the're not available in NZ, nor the 1N5817 Schottky diodes (1N5819 are) I have to get them from Farnell Australia so I'm trying for the inductors too.

Any tips with their usage (about 40mA) is appreciated.

Peak switch current limit of the 756 is stated on the datasheet at

1.2A worst case and the inductor DC resistance needs to be 0.03R or less.

I did manage to find two candidates at Farnell. The first looks O.K but the second is certainly not cheap!

I don't know if this will help, but nobody else answered you. How about going to Digikey.com and using their search to find manufacturers part numbers that you can then look for in Farnell. Digikey is a U.S. company but maybe some of the manufacturers' parts will also be available through Farnell. Navigate the digikey website until you find the "parts search" function. There will be a sort of table of contents where you can find the heading for passives/inductors, then do a parametric search for the inductors you want. I haven't found any other supplier's search function that works like digikey's.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a go.
