Insiders knowledge; Custom LCD construction

Hi

I am purchasing a custom LCD (FSTN or TFT), but I am running into limited knowledge of the actual design and production setup of LCD and the constraints involved

For example, how is the routing from the COG controller to the crystals and what affects the form ratio of a display. Active area versus Visible Area and border outline

So, anyone know of a reference for this. A book perhaps covering the production and design concepts/constraints?

Thanks

Klaus

Not much different from PCB, but with thinner lines. For example: 256x64 needs 64 lines on the borders (one or both sides) Cost is inversely proportional to border size.-

It's up to you. Active view port can be any subset of the controller physical port.
