Bog Antenna-- Frst Analyzer Graph

Hi all, I received my Rigexpert AA-35 today. First thing I did was measure resistors. I'm not impressed with accuracy, maybe I'm expecting to much. I first tested at 1120kHz 50 ohms was acceptable, 100 ohms was 2% low with 1.47 Xc, 200 ohms was 6% low with 9.35 Xc , 300 ohms was 8.5% low with 23.5 Xc, 500ohms was 14.5% low with 66.1 Xc and 800 ohms was 11% low with 146.51 Xc. I then read a comparison of analyzers and the AA-54 showed better accuracy, but it was tested at 3.5MHz. So I retested at 3.5MHz, the accuracy was a little worse than at 1120kHz.

Further testing this week end, I'll build the GHz termination just to make sure it's not my resistors. Not sure how to do that on a PL259 though. Might have a better idea.

Here's a graph of the Bog wire only terminated with 277 ohms. I first measured the R/X in the shack at the end of the 250ft of spaeker wire and adjusted the variable termination for flatest response. Lost that graph. Then went out and measured the BOG wire. The graph runs from 540kHz to 1700kHz.

I hope resolution gets better when I get into the software package download for the computer.

Is the graph what you expected? Mikek
