I have one of the above amplifiers for home threatre use. It was a cheap and cheerful unit so i didn't worry about the display fault, but its developed into being more off than on unlike it used to be. The VFD doesn't switch on unless the unit gets heated up (i.e leave the doors closed on the ent. unit for a few hours) and then it will be fine. Wouldn't be a problem except adjusting inputs etc has no OSD and for channel level adjustment its very difficult to navigate through the menus and tuning in the radio is basically impossible without the display.
Do VFD's themselves show issues like this or is it likely to be the supply to the VFD that is causing the problem ?
