As per the subject I want to use a USB camera with a SA15 Pi and have it drive a display (HDMI presumably) directly. The Pi I'm aiming to use just has the Lite version of the OS so there's no desktop/GUI available, just the command line.
Is this possible?
SA15 Pi? I haven't heard of that one.
Mplayer supports output to fbdev, which should work for that if HDMI works for displaying the Linux terminal command line over HDMI on your "SA15 Pi":
