Sound card advice.

Grrrr!!!!! Never connect two soundcards on two computers, lineout-->linein. One computer was connected to a 2 instead of 3pole mains outlet.

Both soundcards permanently disabled.......... One of them on the motherboard.

So what advice were you seeking?

Same advice valid when connecting PCs to video equipment, especially older television sets. Most of my AV stuff terminates to a couple of TiVo PVRs, also connected to the phone line and ethernet. These Series1 units previously 2-core connected are now both strapped to mains earth. Before I did that, it was not a nice AC 50Hz hum that was distributed around the house telephone wiring!

Just replaced one soundcard, and six outlets, 30 years ago I put an extra ground wire in each pipe, am glad I did that. One card to go, I only had a few ISA cards, the last comp is PCI only((broken)card integrated on MB).
