Hi, I'm currently trying to track down a fault on a UK-model Sony KV-A2942U (believed to be AE2 chassis). Symptoms are: - TV starts up fine, picture fairly OK (a bit of red smear in some scenes) - After a few minutes, video goes black. On RF channels, no sound or video; on SCART sound is present but black video. - OSD display is active, "NICAM" OSD display on all RF channels (which is normal). OSD never disappears, set acts as if there's no video input. - A few minutes later, STAND BY LED blinks, seems to be 4 blinks, brief pause, repeat. Stereo A and B LEDs on solid.
Has anyone seen this on a KV-A2942, or any other AE2 Sony? FWICT this set has a reputation for bad solder joints, one repair tip I read started with "first, resolder everything"...
