I'm looking at buying a Devilbiss GB5000 portable generator. Seller says says it need a new stator for about $250. Does any place repair/rewind stators for small generators or is this strictly a remove and replace part?
He says rotor and other parts are good (who knows ???)
What would cause the stator to fail in the first place ?
