Here is an excerpt from a booklet that came with my Sony/Ericsson phone entitled "Important Charging Information". The instructions are written in 37 languages.
Oddly, Ericsson consider that UK English and US English are sufficiently dissimilar to warrant individual translations. There *is* one difference, but can you spot it?

Funny you should say that. The booklet also contains French and French (Can.) versions. However, in this case the differences appear to be substantial.

I am puzzled by the use of the term 'battery' in both versions.
From Webster, I would expect the US version to explain a feature their competition (Nokia) seems to be famous for :-)
Do they recharge batteries or cells in the US ?
And what is 'common speak' down under ? Big brother's or mamma's speak ? :-)

We still speak and write in UK English, although Hollywood is doing its best to change that.
