NEC Plasma Screen Schematic/Manual

Dec 28, 2005 2 Replies

A friend has two large Plasma screens with burned out power supplies. He's a Broadcast Maintenance Engineer at a 24 hour news channel and can

fix any electronic equipment if he has a schematic or can identify the parts.

These units are NEC PX-42VP4A

Does anyone have a schematic, service manual or insight into where to get the following part, BLQH, which looks like a surface mount transistor or what the equivalent parts is?

NEC has been unresponsive to requests for a service manual or schematic.

Thanks all

You will need to contact an NEC authorized servicer as they are the only ones that can get the service manual.

Even if they will loan or sell you the service manual, you will not get any schematic. All repairs on the NEC ones are board level replacement as long as they are still being supported by NEC.

Many times a well experienced technician in the arena of SMPS repairs does not need a schematic to perform the basic troubleshooting on any SMPS to get started.

They of course, are not supported by NEC having been supplanted by an improved model that doesn't fry power supplies.

No luck with NEC. Wish someone knew what that surface mount 3 pin BLQH really was. Looks like a small transistor. Everything else is pretty straight forward.
