IS IT SAFE TO OPERATE MICROWAVE WITHOUT GUIDEGOVER

HI first time i have used this forum and wondering if i could pick your brains.. the silver wavecover has burnt in my microwave...is it dangerous to continue using it without the cover???ie microwave radiation in my food.....what exactly is the function of the cover thanks in advance

it protects the magnetron . Protects it from moisture and grease. best to replace it . contact local appliance parts house or AMI

It will not be protected.It's very cheap to replace.Buy a strip,cut to size.Not really dangerous but for the price why bother to take the risk>

It's safe as far as humans are concerned but as another reply said, protects the waveguide and magnetron from contamination.
