Hacking an LED LCD TV

Mar 16, 2015 1 Replies

Junked to the street minus ps and main board section, so just the display, only 2011 vintage. What other than the 64 LEDs (more stubborn so far to salvaging than the ones I've won from mains LED lamps)?. Any use for the microprism sheet, or the perspex covered in little dots? Some nice large tinplate. At least more is salvagable from these than CRTs.

Tried removing 10 of the LEDs, one broke and one flew off somewhere, only tested the 8 with 20mA with no heatsink. 2 in one package, not determined series or parallel yet.
