Where is that theatere? $6.50 and free popcorn!? I live in Orlando and would definately go there for that.

Mike

Hi Mike At Pointe Orlando towards the top of International. They've been refurbing the whole complex for the last year or so - certainly over the period of our last couple of visits, and when we were there a few weeks ago, we drove up there to see how they were getting on. The rest of the complex is still far from ready, but the cinema was back open. It used to be a Muvico, but it seems to be owned by someone else now. I got the impression that it had only just re-opened, so maybe it was just a promotional offer. We went to see Spiderman on either the launch day or the day after. Anyway, six of us went plus one child, and it was like $45, and we were each handed a voucher to take over to the concession for a sack of popcorn and bucket of Pepsi - I kid you not - they were that big ! The theatre itself was very nice, and there was nothing about the presentation that I could fault. There was even quite a crowd in there for an afternoon showing, but I guess that might have been to do with it being launch day for the movie. It's been a bit 'static' in the area for the last few years, but I see that Universal are building Harry Potter Land now in 'Islands' for end 2008 I think it is, and that Sea World are building a new water park on the opposite side of International to where their marine park is.

We'll have to get together for a beer or something on my next trip.

Arfa, you should have called me. I'm just a few hours north of Orlando, on Hwy. 441.

Hi Michael, I probably will on our next visit, which I guess won't be until next year now. Next visit we are planning is back to Vegas, probably in October. Our daughter got married there a coupla years back, and we all try to get back there for the aniversary each year. BTW, I'm surprised that you have remained so restrained over that slating you got nearer the top of the group on the 4th July ...

You didn't see me on the other newsgroups he spammed and slandered my name! When he started damming US soldiers, I tore him a new one. I'll bet his eyes are no longer brown, and that he has to stand for at least a month before it heals properly. ;-)

Anyway, I've promised Leonard that I'd TRY to behave better on this newsgroup. There are a few things I just can't ignore. :(

I haven't been frequenting many other groups lately, so didn't see any other stuff from this bozo, but at least a couple of us jumped to your defense on here - although I have to say that I was surprised that there wasn't a few more. Sill, there's no figuring folk, as they say ...

Stay well

He finally shut up, after I pointed out that his comments damming US soldiers for enlisting, and his calling the commander in chief a Nazi would be archived for decades, and they aren't good for business.

Anyone who makes their living by diving in corporate dumpsters fro obsolete networking equipment, that may never be able to sell anything to the US Government.

The lack of support doesn't surprise me. Too many are afraid to take a stand, one way or another.

That's a bit sad really, considering that Usenet is a community, and that for the most part, this group tries to be friendly and helpful. Like most groups, there are probably 20 of us who devote our time to trying to sort out the problems of others, and I think that it's a bit of a poor show, when more of the regulars (and lurkers) can't find it in themselves to step up to the defence of one of the others ...
