If you're asking whether there's other or better software available, there's a number of packages that do quite well. I use and prefer Wave Corrector

It's not free, but is one of the better audio recording and processing packages at a very reasonable price. It has great tape hiss removal feature, as well as a graphic equalizer that can be applied to the audio. It's main purpose in life is to transcribe and clean up audio from vinyl records, and does a superb job at it, but it also handles tapes or any other audio source that you can plug into your sound card's line input. .
