For safety

I buying a Visor Treo 90 with palmOS 4.1 H, is sure that I can link my palm with my linux box to exchange data? tnx

There is one minor issue: The USB-to-serial converter built into the Treo 90 is switched off most of the time. It only wakes up when you press the HotSync button. Thus, the serial port only exists actually during a HotSync op. So, make sure you are using the *USB* support, not the *serial* support. I had a bit of trouble getting this to work. I could install and sync manually at the commandline, but backgrounded gpilotd would not sync properly over USB.

I eventually switched to using IR which works perfectly.
