Design Challenge #724 Your Portable Devices Require Longer Battery Life
Showing pictures of a digital camera, PDA, MP3 player, and then goes on to imply their low leakage diodes offer a soloution.
Like a maximum leakage of 1nA compared to a bog standard 1N914 at 25nA.
The pictured devices have an operating battery life of what? 2 or 3 to 10 hours, and a practical standby life of maybe a couple of months.
If you take the couple of months standby and worst case leakage their low leakage diode would save you 2 * 24nAmonths or about 35uAh.
These devices will have typically 1.5Ah batteries so the saving is about
0.002% of battery capacity per diode. The advert finishes with "Hands down, the best solution for handhelds today"
Anyone agree ?
