Are there any microphones, i.e. bugs that can pick up someone's subvocalizations, bodily sounds, etc., WITHOUT being attached to that specific person? Or is it impossible? Thanks for any replies.

There are ways to focus sound waves. Parabolic reflectors work well and so do shotgun microphones. It is amazing how sensitive and focused these devices can be.
Also, there are ways to use window panes as transducers by bouncing microwave beams or laser beams off of them and using Doppler shift recovery to get acoustic information that originated on the other side of the window pane.
Also, there are techniques that only the CIA and NSA know about!
