Citgo Stripes Again

The newly-named "Stripes" convenience store chain purchases gasoline from Citgo refineries, among others. So says the CFO of Susser Holdings Corporation, owner of the chain. Email her and ask if you doubt.

Act as you see fit. Me? I no longer patronize ANY "Stripes" establishment for any reason.

OK, so you've apparently got some sort of axe to grind with Citgo. The rest of us can't tell what that is, of course, and in any case are at a complete loss to see how this has anything whatsoever to do with electronics.

The "axe" is Hugo Chavez, the soon to be dictator-for-life of the nation of Venezuela. Citgo is completely owned by the government of Venezuela, as are all other petroleum activities inside the country. Chavez has also promised to finish nationalizing ALL business in the country, having already starting with telecommunications and broadcasting. Does any of this have anything to do with electronics?

Nope, not really. See ya. And please try to keep your political protests restricted to a more appropriate forum.

Not that any of the oil companies are particularly good for mankind; but at least Venezuela isn't actively at war with us, as are the recipients of quite a bit of the oil company money that flows into the Middle East, and thence into the coffers of the extremists who extort cash from the Saudi royal house, for instance.
