10 technologies that refuse to die

They are doing it. They want units YESTERDAY.

This is not an electrical device killer, it is a stimulator.

The stimulus can cause failure modes.

Car bombs, for instance, go off before they reach their target areas. Now do you see any viable applications?

I can picture a tube made of concrete that perspective entrants into Israel must pass through individually. In the tunnel, bomb sniffers and such may or may not catch a perp. If it does, two slabs of concrete seal the chamber, and Johnny gets to play with his pulser. The idiot in the tube has a very non-influential day.

I guess I assumed that a man of your age and achievement, nestled in Arizona because problems with the cold, might mellow out some over the years. But is that incorrect? Once a Brass Rat, always a Brass Rat? :)

They tend to scramble too (at least in other areas then Boston) when you point the car at them, bring the engine speed to around 6500 RPM, and sporadically release the clutch while in 2nd gear..... Especially effective when you fish tail the car down the street.

Might as well. I believe we are already wired in just like in that movie, you know, "The Matrix".

--------------------- They want means they can't get. I and most physicists know why.

----------------------- My wife has a bunch of those.

------------------------- Never did to her.

--------------------------- You mean like a cheap-turkey walkie-talkie sets off RF blasting caps. BFD.

------------------------------- Nice, but NOT EMP.

Now how did you get so far afield of the thread just to desperately avoid looking like an ass.

No. That means that they succeeded in making it, and now they want us to make several thousand power supplies for their product.

Yes. It IS real. Already. They want them deployed yesterday. There... does that sound better?

You make assumptions based on my colloquialism. Bad move. This thing is real. Already.

As for the second sentence. That has been said about many things. Like flying... 1903 , and light punching holes in metals... laser,

1960.

Or glass being used to control voltages... The transistor in 1948.

You must be out of the loop.

----------------------- You're delusional, this was supposedly up and coming 30 YEARS ago now! The physics still doesn't permit it.

Tell that to the first guy that does NOT get blown up by a bomb that was pre-fused by one of these devices.

You really need a clue.

The problem with people like Walz is that (because of his narrow minded, hateful and statist arrogance) he believes that anything that the US (esp the US centrists and right) does (or is successful in doing) results from deception. He even suspends any kind of logic or thinking when considering US political or military issues -- and his type of politics is usually wrong...

Even when Walz (and people like him) happen to be 'factually correct' the actual process for creating his opinion is so very corrupt that it is better (generally more probably correct) to use a random event generator to select amongst the alternatives or even take the opposite position from Walz. Slowman has essentially the same kind of emotionally distorted (feeling based upon hate, not factually based upon real world information) thinking.

You sound like yet another Texan. So sure of yourself, so goddammed self-rightous you should be appointed God. Well f*ck you, buddy. You ain't shit. And you're never going to be shit. You're just a little dweeb with an inferiority complex so severe, the NSA runs when it hears your name. You're the pristine f*ck who cuts in front of everyone in traffic and turns left on red, the one who cuts in line at the grocery store, the one who yells at the old lady because she's in your way, the one who drives by slowly in your twenty-mile high SUV with gold-plated wheels and 5000-watt subwoofer system, blasting out your psychosis-inducing drivel which you call music, while flashing your firearm and gang symbols like they're supposed to *mean* something. So take your 4-million calibre pistola and blow up the entire world if you like, because it doesn't mean a thing to me, because you don't mean a thing to me. Nothing you can do will summount to anything worthwhile. Everything about you is self-depreciating. Your words don't even have sustenance, you are nothing, you do not even exist, you are a shadow of a human being. Go whereforth you came, pathetic excuse for a soul. May you dwell on your past when death greets you.

Are you sure he's all smoke though?

Walz is definately passionate, that's not in question. He may be right, and he may be wrong. But he sure seems to have a defined opinnion, and that's more than I can say for myself.
