I finally bought the analyzer. It is great for my purpose and I developed a serial interface to make it compatible with the Windows XP based PCs. I also wrote a software suite for the instrument which works via that serial interface.
The SW has the following main specifications: Wavelength: 165...4600nm (depending on the installed detectors and grating mirror) Bandwidth: .25 to 16nm (depending on the installed slits and grating mirror) Wavelength resolution: .01nm Full wavelength calibration procedure. Number of simultaneous traces: 5 Traces interpolation modes: Linear/Spline Traces filtering: None, Smooth, Savit 5pts; Savit 7pts; Savit 9pts; Pt.Wt. Traces math: sum; subtract; multiply; divide; chain; area for power density computations Number of on traces markers: 8 Marker modes: free; on peak ; on pit; BW peak; BW pit Amplitude modes: absorbance; transmission; reflectance; power dBm; power W (the absolute power measurements require a suitable calibration against a reliable third party OSA as reference) Amplitude settings: 1-2-5 steps; continuous; autoscale Delta markers: 8 with amplitude/wavelength delta readouts (one for each marker) All traces can be zoomed manually or via markers The scan process is customizable: one main scan process and up to 10 subscan processes allow the time optimization for the whole process Scan modes: Sample; Max hold; Min hold; Reference Scan sensitivity: x1; x100; x10000; Auto (depending on the installed detectors)
Selective power meter embedded with instantaneous power readout, max/ min/avg power readouts and power trend curve selectable to show the power drift on the 15 seconds, 1 minute or 1 hour time span.
The software includes the test and calibration utilities for all the boards of the Model 200 OSA and the serial interface.
The software can export customizable Excel CSV files and BMP hardcopy files.
If anyone has the Model 200 OSA, I can give you the SW, the HW schematics, the PCB drawings and the FW of the serial interface. All the above for free, without any fee but under the "as is" license of use.
