XIP (eXecute In Place) - Actual Internal working

Hi,

What is the actual working theme behind XIP ( Internals of eXecute In Place ? ) ? Kindly share some info/links .

Thx in advans, Karthik Balaguru

Instead of treating the flashcard as a disk, from which the application is loaded into internal memory, XIP maps the flashcard into the memory map of the CPU and executes the application straight from the flashcard. The flashcard must support this mode by being able to offer access to the entire memory array though its address and data bus.
