Software Peer Review Form

Hi,

Does anybody have any software peer review forms that have worked well for them?

I know that it is standard to record hours, major and minor issues, etc.

Can anyone either e-mail such things to me ( snipped-for-privacy@cequentgroup.com) or FAX them to my attention at 517-767-4707?

Thanks a lot, Dave Ashley.

I presume that you are adept enough at using a word processor or similar package. It is easy to create your own. The form only has to identify (in a unique way) the software module being reviewed, its version number and date of last save. Then it is a matter of recording any issues that arise out of the review itself. Nothing special about the form. Ensure that you leave some space to collect approval signatures so that if it passes the review with zero outstanding issues you can all sign it off as suitable for promoting for release.

While your at producing foirms, make sure you create a form for recording any problems that anyone who ever looks at the software, uses it or tests it can feedback their list of problems that arise. Then ensure you have a development methodology to deal with all the issues so raised. One task of the review would then include making sure that all these problematic issues had been dealt with as well.

So, having said all that, have you got a development methodology in place that is robust, easy to memorise and is applied by all members of your development team.
