We are going to use the external L2 cache on a PowerPC 7410 as a private memory store. From the 7410's user manual is clear on the setup of the L2CR and L2PMCR register for the L2 cache to act as private memory. It is not clear, however, on whether or not the BAT registers must map the private memory store or not.
Has anyone used the L2 cache private memory capability of the 7410 before? Did you use the BAT registers to do simple memory mapping? If so, was the BAT registers set up to map the private memory to the cpu's memory map as well?
