The new multilevel MLC cell flash technology requires more robust error generation and checking than the currently single bit ECC used by the SLC Flash Memories. (Also SmartMedia - though I haven't seen MLC Smartmedia).
I can't find any standard code to generate and use multiple bit error correction.
Do NAND users roll their own?
