I'm interested in coupling an AMIS-52000 or AMIS-53000 low power transceiver to an MSP430 microcontroller to build a tiny, low-power wireless sensor. Does anybody know of a source for these chips that sells them in small quantities? I've only seen sources for 1K+ quantities.
I was thinking that the ultra-low power combination of the AMIS transceiver and the MSP430 would be a great platform for playing with wireless mesh networks and environmental sensing.
