Yes, that's the latest version (at least, the latest official version - as you can get the source code, others have no doubt made modified versions). Quite simply, it does the job it was designed to do, and nobody has felt the need to seriously expand on it. Higher baud rates are not actually used much, at least with terminal emulator programs. As someone else noted, higher rates are not needed for text-based interaction over a serial link. Occasionally you might want a setup with interactive communication and also fast transfers of files, but for the most part a system that requires fast communication will need a specialised program anyway.
