Cost-Effective LCD Panel

I'm looking for a cost-effective LCD panel to provide a user interface for a
piece of industrial A/V equipment. Nominally, about 5" wide, but it needs
to be graphics capable, maybe a 240x64 dot monochrome. Long ago, I used an
Optrex DMF5005N for something similar.
I'm trying to find the most cost effective way to do this. It can have a
controller or I can use a uC with a controller in it, and it doesn't need
backlight. It does need to support bitmapped graphics, though.
I was hoping such a thing could be found in the $20-$30 range (lot 500).. am
I dreaming? Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: Cost-Effective LCD Panel

If you have the wherewithal to buy a large quantity upfront, or if you
don't mind reworking the housing periodically, a surplus LCD will
easily meet [indeed, undershoot] your budget. One site I have found to
be of interest for this kind of thing is <http://www.73.com/ .
