ZAX Quick-EII Eprom Eraser question

If this is a fluorescent type, the model number is on the quartz tube. If it's an argon glow lamp, I don't know.

Are you sure there is no other problem like a defective interlock that kills the lamp when the eraser is opened?

Look around for "germicidal lamps". I believe that quite a few EPROM erasers use the G4T5, which is the same shape and size and electrically compatible with a 4 watt fluorescent bulb. It may be a different wattage - look at fluorescent bulbs at a hardware store or a home center and if you see one of the same size and lead style, the wattage is that of the EPROM bulb. The EPROM bulb would then be G(wattage)T(diameter in eights of an inch)

That is assuming the bulb is the usual germicidal that resembles a fluorescent bulb. These are basically fluorescent lamps that lack phosphor and are made with a special glass (usually not pure quartz) that is transparent to the 253.7 nm wavelength of mercury.
