Toshiba 2857DB Help!!

Mar 13, 2006 5 Replies

Hi I have a Toshiba 2857DB and am experiencing a few problems with it -

i was wondering if anyone on here could help.

When I turn the TV on the screen remains black and the green timer L.E.D flases once every couple of seconds. If I turn it off and leave it and come back toit, the TV will then work fine.

Ive lost my owner's manual so i have no idea whats wrong with it.

Can anyone please help.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi. This doesn't sound like a bug -- it sounds like a feature.

I have a Samsung that does something like the same thing. The green LED is steady on when the television is off, and the LED goes off when you turn it on.

The Toshiba product manual website is:

I believe your TV model number has a letter prefix. If it doesn't, try the email link at the webpage to get information on a .pdf of your owners' manual.

If this isn't what you're looking for, try posting to sci.electronics.repair.

Good luck Chris

Thanks a lot Chris.

I will try all your suggestions and I hope one of them works out.

Thnks again.

Good ole Toshiba famous for bad capacitors look for green label caps or red label. Use either a can of freeze mist on caps to find which one.
