superflux leds

hey guys, can someone explain to me the difference between superflux leds and standard 2 pin led? why do superflux use 4 pins? how are they connected? do they use the standard current limiting resistors like two pin leds?

The 2 extra pins are there to carry away the heat the LED creates. For the rest it's just a normal LED.
