Schumacher Automotive Jump Stater/DC Power Source and Macerator

Hi Again. To simplify explaining the nomenclature of the power source that does work with my macerator, it is seen at the following URL:

The Macerator I have can be seen at the following URL:

The page does not explain all of the information; according to the material sent with the unit, it operates at 12VDC, 16Amps (with a 20 Amp fuse in the "trigger."

If, then, I use a standard automotive battery (will it be a difference whether the auto battery is "good")? -- in the sequence of Charger + battery to Macerator, would this be appropriate for the motor?

Thanks,

Mark

This will work:

.---------. + | |-------------+----[Fuse]----+ | | | + | + | Charger | [Battery] [Macerator] | | | | | |-------------+--------------+ '---------'

And yes, the battery has to be "good" - at least good enough to supply the current needed by the macerator. But a weak auto battery scrounged from your car mechanic may be good enough.

Get a used battery from a wrecker (the ones they sell for $10 or so with a one month warranty), it'll be good enough.

what happened to the battery in your RV?
