Blower Time Delay On 3 Decade Old Heat Pump

Can you even buy the part?

How does it work?

Actually it was just the control circuit transformer.

There are no markings on this part. Not even a single letter or digit.

It's 220 v ac to 24 according to the schematic.

The 25 min. ampacity 3 phase unit cools pretty good even when it's 50 degrees C.

Does the transformer need to put out more than a couple amps?

The transformer is to operate the thermostat and usually just switches a relay or two...

24 VAC is chosen because the wiring small gauge, safe and doesn't require an electrician.

2 leads still need to be hooked up to the 230 contactors.

Guessing not too wildly the total power output of the transformer is 40 watts (1.7 amps).

The transformer weighs 770 gms, 1 lb, 11 oz. There probably isn't much wiggle room on weight when it comes to a certain out put amp 230 - 24v transformer.

Not really game changing but the new transformer weighs 15% less. The plates are thinner. Apparently they couldn't make thin plates 3 decades ago.
