I would like to know a protocol to calibrate a thermopile and its amplification.
By calibration I mean exciting the thermopile (by changing the temperature of the object as well as the ambiant temperature) to determine the coefficients that link the thermopile and the thermopile's thermistor outputs.
I am a hobbyist and I do not have too much equipment at home... Non need to say the protocol should be lightweight!

Well, get a couple of thermometers, a voltmeter, an ammeter, an assortment of loads, a heat source of some kind, and a lab notebook and pencil, and measure the output at various temperature differentials, loads, and so on.

The thermopile measures whatever it measures, be that ambient, or radiation, reflections.
You can sort of calibrate it by having it at a constant temperature and point it to a scenery with constant temperature. Eg open the fridge and take a reading. Or open the cooking stove and take a reading.
