Not handy to bolt to the pipes at hand. But in the end, it did not matter. By my thinking, the LM-35 was heated/cooled by the pipe, and while better conductive epoxy sped up reaching the equilibrium state, it did not alter the fact it did get there. [The 35 was inside the pipe's insulation jacket...] There's some minor self-heating from the 35's expended power, but not much.
Compared to/with epoxy?
No. It makes the epoxy conduct heat better. Not as good as metallic beads/particles but still better than the plastic epoxy itself does.
It adheres well and does not degrade surface attachment contact areal density much. It works quite well, and if you call up the companies that sell epoxies, they will tell you that it is one of the fillers used across the industry. A basic proof is that even fiberglass filled plastic that has been made stronger by the fiberglass also has a better thermal conductivity number.
Doh! And it is an electrical, not thermal insulator, ya dope.
On your house, it only keeps the wind out. The pane itself is the same temp on both sides except where direct convective flow crosses it suddenly. This is why multiple glaze windows work so well, even though there is air in the gap, which is why they do not work as well as a vacuum gap glazing would. Don't see many of those. Alternate gasses and reduced pressure, but not many vacuum gap. Usually chemical desiccant in the separator bars too.

Silica is mediocre thermally. If the additive grains increase the thermal gap, they'll make things worse, not better.
Grain size matters a lot. If it's not very uniform, the occasional big grains establish big spacing, so the small grains float around in a sea of epoxy, which situation is rotten thermally. Additives can easily make things worse.
Cataphote sells "spacer grade" glass beads, carefully sorted for size and fairly expensive. They are good for establishing an insulating gap; mix just a little into epoxy and you get self-gapping. Rotten thermally. Like most gritty things, their regular retro-reflector-grade beads are all over the place on size.
Thermalloy makes a very nice green thermal epoxy, very strong and heat resistant, and with very fine-grain filler. Messy and labor-intensive like all epoxy.

Glass bead spacers are amazingly good at improving the dimensional stability of bonded joints. Any cement that shrinks at least a percent or so will keep the beads in contact with the two sides over a pretty wide temperature range. Good medicine for lots of optomechanical tasks, and you don't actually need that many in the mix.

I am not sure that it will be suitable to your situation, but there=20 are conformable heater tapes used for a variety of purposes. Such tape=20 may do what you need.

THAT's a good idea. There are heater pads for the oilpans of small piston aircraft engines. They come with adhesive that you expose and then you apply the pad to the cleaned pan.
