Surge Capable Chip Resistors

Problem: Smallest chip resistor that can handle a one shot pulse of170VDC for 20mS. R=22k. Pulse is square and doesn't repeat for hours.Research effort:I looked at a few datasheets without surge data..Then I found this: is smd ?? It's got leads..This will work, but what else is there.?Any suggestions...D from BC

If megawatt sources were allowed on HF it would be experimental and could be quite exciting. Bringing up "production" megawatt VHF and UHF transmitters is usually pretty uneventful, same with megawatt RADAR. Experimental and pre-production units can be very interesting.

Its also interesting when a high power waveguide switch or circulator fails. A guy on a tower crew got a nasty burn on his ass when he leaned against a cracked weld on the waveguide feeding a Ch 55 antenna with 195 KW of UHF RF. There was a VERY slow leak in the dry nitrogen levels in the waveguide that we couldn't find. He found it the hard way. :(
