How can i connect UART of CMOS IC to PC(RS232) using voltage converter IC? any circuit(max232)? any precaution?
A few:
(1) Get the MAX232s in your hands before you assume you can ever get them. Maxim has more datasheets for parts you'll never see than any other maker.
(2) You will be hooking the ground of this systems together. Make sure and then check again that there isn't another connection that will make large currents flow. Check the ground of the PC and the supply to your circuit.
(3) As you plug the cable on and off, the ground pin won't always hook up first. Check you design to make sure that just connecting TXD won't break things.
(4) Make sure your PC has an RS-232 port. A lot don't these days. There are a few out there with 9 pin D connectors that go to internal cables that aren't plugged into anything. (Yes I ran into this)
