radiated power meter

I am preparing a project on radiated power meter. Aim is to catch the em waves of a particular frequency range and to measure its power and display it. Can someone please give me some information about which type of reciever antenna i should use.

Hi,

If you are working in the UHF/u-wave region there are a number of standard-gain antenna designs around you might use. Knowing the gain you can work out the aperture and then the power density in the wave front. A common form is a square horn and yet another one uses a couple of dipoles against a metal sheet reflector.

Google or a good text book are your friends.

I reckon I would use one that was matched to the particular frequency range, you may even have to go so far as to mention that before there is much response.

What range of frequencies ?

From what sort of transmissions and at what distances.

Is it mobile phones you want to compare or are you ranging space craft ?
