OT: Scifi Humor...

A scifi series has two time travelers in a 2000 pickup truck when the near empty light comes on and they have to figure out how to get gasoline. One asks "Were they aware at this time that Earth's supply of fossil fuel was nearing depletion?" The other replies, "They had been for 30 years, but it wasn't until 2061 that they finally..." and is cut off when the search device beeps.

So what's going to happen in 2061???

Safe, effective fusion power?

Solar cells are made from sea water?

Badgers are found to be a valuable source of fuel oil?

What is it??? Inquiring minds want to know!

SHit down here... too many idiots.

But up there... in the future... looks like it works pretty good.

But it isn't communism (of any kind), by the way.

There seems to be money in Star Trek from time to time. The characters buy things and have it when the plot says they have to.

I'm assuming Picard is being imprecise here and means there isn't a fiat currency, the Federation of Planets doesn't "print" an official currency or have a central bank it's unnecessary.

Bio Diesel for when battery and solar wont do the job. Of course there are predictions that society will collapse in 2040 because of the population crunch and lack of resources, so 2061 won't be a problem.
