OT: Novel Personal Transport Solution

I don't think the battery energy density is yet near where it needs to be to give credible ranges to stuff like this. Those quad-copter "air taxis" are still speculative fiction, 400 Wh/kg was the figure I saw thrown about to give one 45 minutes to an hour of flight time at 70-80 mph for a couple passengers, which is perhaps a minimum requirement for a useful product.

This looks like fun on a sunny day. Most people who have ridden motorcycles have a story about being caught in rain.

Probably noisier that the worst hog.

It would reduce road congestion if it killed off a significant fraction of commuters.

I have a motorcycle rain story involving Steve McQueen.

Then there's the crowd on the ground who will make sport out of shooting them down.

If it's used for commutes in traffic-jammed cities like Rome, though, because the city is so small (but takes hours to cross in a car) it could be a real game-changer. Even 10 minutes flight time in such an environment would be of great value in clearing the roads.
