Well, thanks to zero "support" by M$, an explanation has been found. Hotmail is an M$ product and IE is an M$ product. It turns out that hotmail was "designed" to work ONLY with IE. The long-winded script embedded in hotmail e-mail accounts are written so as to purposely FAIL if one uses any browser other than IE. Wonderful, eh?
